Donor and Funding Partner Charter
The Mount Street Club Trust is a charitable trust, originally founded in Dublin in 1934 as the Mount Street Club. The main object of the Trust is the relief of the effects of disadvantage and poverty. We are committed to the highest possible standards in how we cultivate trust and transparency with our supporters, partners, beneficiaries and the public. This charter sets out our commitments to donors and funding partners who support our work.
We believe that social inclusion, empowerment and the rights of people to make a life in Ireland are best served by people and organisations who see trust as a social and cultural exchange that builds community and enables everyone to contribute to working towards a shared goal.
We hold that trust-based philanthropy is pivotal when it comes to seeking justice and social change. We are committed to acknowledging and addressing the power imbalances that inform charitable giving and grantmaking in the broadest sense.
We know that our assumptions and attitudes are formed in systems that perpetuate a fear of the unknown and may in turn impact unwittingly on the way we make decisions as well as who gets listened to and included in decision making in the first instance.
This means leading in a spirit of service, mutual respect, openness as well as building relationships that critically reflect on what we see happening in the world and to our planet.
